Commitment to Digital Accessibility

Equity Settlement Services is committed to ensuring our website is accessible to all users, including those with disabilities.

Last updated: April 2026 · Equity Settlement Services, Inc. · 444 Route 111, Smithtown, NY 11787

Our Standard

Equity Settlement Services, Inc. ("ESS") aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. These guidelines, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), define how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities — including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, and neurological disabilities.

We treat accessibility as an ongoing process. Our website is regularly reviewed and tested using both automated tools and manual evaluation to identify and remediate barriers.

Measures We Have Taken

  • All meaningful images include descriptive alternative text.
  • All form fields have visible labels and are programmatically associated with their controls.
  • Form validation errors are clearly identified and described to assistive technologies.
  • The website is fully operable by keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator on all interactive elements.
  • A skip-to-main-content link is provided at the top of every page.
  • Page structure uses semantic HTML landmarks (header, main, nav, footer) and a logical heading hierarchy.
  • Interactive widgets — including tabs, modals, and dropdown menus — use ARIA roles and properties consistent with the WAI-ARIA Authoring Practices.
  • The site is built to support text resizing up to 200% without loss of content or functionality.
  • Links that open in a new browser tab or window are identified for screen reader users.

Known Limitations

We are aware of the following areas where we are actively working to improve accessibility:

  • Some secondary text elements use reduced-opacity color values that may produce insufficient contrast ratios on certain display configurations. We are reviewing these elements against the WCAG 1.4.3 minimum contrast requirement.

Technical Approach

This website relies on the following technologies for conformance with WCAG 2.2:

  • HTML
  • CSS
  • JavaScript
  • WAI-ARIA
